Safely in Qatar
Hello friends!
I've been in Qatar (if you don't know where that is, it is a country just off Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf) for 2 days so far, and it is wonderful. The weather is a bit hot (around 110 F), but nothing I can't take. Plus, in November it cools to around 90 and we can have some fun.
If you haven't spoken to me recently, I am here to be a teaching assistant in biology at Cornell Medical College in Qatar. The
students are from countries in the middle east and Asia (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, India). They are about 40-60% female depending on the class, and most are muslim.
I feel very safe here, and I am excited to be a part of a program dedicated to breaking down borders and making medical education available to anyone.
I'll keep you all posted!
